Kovtun notched 15.366, with Cameron-Lie Bernard of France completing the podium in 14.600.

There was a double success in the men's event for Kazakhstan courtesy of Milad Karimi in the floor exercise and Nariman Kurbanov on the pommel horse.

Karimi scored 14.200, with Kovtun earning another silver with 13.933 and Riley Loos of the United States taking bronze with 13.733.

Kurbanov dominated the pommel horse, scoring 15.300 to the 14.933 of Ireland's world champion Rhys McClenaghan and 14.766 of Albania's Matvei Petrov.

Nikita Simonov provided success for hosts Azerbaijan on the rings, notching 14.633 to edge out Iran's Mahdi Ahmad Kohani's 14.500 and Austria's Vinzenz Höck 14.433.

Alexander Myakinin of Israel was the other winner in the men's events, scoring 14.200 to take gold in the horizontal bar.

Kazuki Matsumi of Japan took second with 14.033 and Olympic silver medallist Tin Srbić of Croatia third with 13.666.

In the women's competition, Italian star Giorgia Villa impressed on the balance beam.

Villa added to a silver in the uneven bars with an unassailable score of 13.966.

Marine Boyer of France took second in the balance beam with 13.866 and Ukraine's Anna Lashchevska third with 13.433.

It was a successful FIG World Cup for France, with Boyer adding a floor exercise gold by notching 12.833 to the 12.800 of Italy's Arianna Belardelli.

Turkey's Sevgi Kayisoglu placed third with 12.566.

World Championships bronze medallist Coline Devillard of France made it back-to-back World Cup wins on the vault yesterday with an average of 13.683, helped by a superb 14.333 on her first attempt.

Uzbekistan's veteran Oksana Chusovitina, an eight-time Olympian and two-time medallist at the Games, had to settle for silver with 13.433, and China's Yu Linmin completed the podium with 13.383.

Qiu Qiyuan of China missed the uneven bars podium at the last World Cup in Doha after a number of falls, but the 15-year-old bounced back brilliantly as 14.700 comfortably earned her gold.

Villa took silver with 14.000 and Sanna Veerman of The Netherlands bronze with 13.766.

Egypt's capital Cairo is due to host the only remaining scheduled Artistic Gymnastics Apparatus World Cup this year from April 27 to 30.
