A turkish para taekwondo athlete,  European and World Champion Meryem Betül Çavdar wants to change the colour of his Olympic medal in Paris 2024. Çavdar reached the final in Tokyo 2020 and took the silver medal. 

In Tokyo 2020, Africa had a strong representative in taekwondo’s Mixed Gender Team Showcase. Olympic medalists from Rio de Janeiro Cheick Cisse and Ruth Gbagbi joined by Seydou Gbane and Amanita Traore representing Ivory Coast in the Showcase though failed to qualify for finals.

The mixed gender team from China claimed gold on home soil today at the Wuxi 2023 World Taekwondo World Cup Team Championships Final and booked their place to perform at the Olympic Games Paris 2024 showcase.

World Taekwondo President Chungwon Choue today hosted a signing ceremony with Mr. Jianmin Guan, President of the Chinese Taekwondo Association and Mr. Yongxin Qin, Vice Mayor of Wuxi Municipal People’s Government, for the Wuxi 2025 World Taekwondo Championships.

The honorary chairman of Swedish Ju-Jitsu Association Hans Greger has passed away at 78 years old after a long period of illness.

Pristina became the centre of European Judo at the weekend. The inaugural edition of the European Judo Championships Open was held in Kosovo’s capital. The tournament consisted of two events: the 57 kg weight category in women’s judo and the 73 kg weight category in men’s judo. 

Two SAMBO certification seminars were conducted for the first time in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia this week.

The first ever Chinese SAMBO Championship among students was held in Wuyuan County, Jiangxi Province from December 3 to 7. More than 200 athletes from 30 universities across the country took part in the tournament organised by the Chinese University Sports Association.

International Judo Federation (IJF) announced on December 15 that the 2024 Judo World Championships will take place in Abu Dhabi in May 2024.
