The International University Sports Federation (FISU) has signed a live coverage agreement with Warner Bros. Discovery that will see its flagship events broadcast live on Eurosport and streamed on discovery+ and Max* in 60 international markets in Europe and Asia, including the 2025 Winter World University Games in Turin and the 2025 Summer World University Games in the Rhine-Ruhr region.

The biennial World University Games will bring together nearly 10,000 athletes and officials from 170 countries in 18 sports over 12 days, while the Winter World University Games will feature 11 days of action in 12 sports. The mass international multi-sport university competition dates more than 100 years with the 1959 Summer and 1960 Winter the first official FISU-organised events.

To extend the storytelling, Eurosport will produce editorial content for digital audiences across Europe. This will include contributions from budding writers as part of the FISU Young Reporters Programme, which has been running since 2011 to develop the skills of young students and sports journalists during FISU events in partnership with the International Sports Press Association (AIPS).

Leonz Eder, FISU President, said: "With this agreement, we are ensuring that the university sport fans across Europe and Asia will have access to all the action, emotion and excitement of our 2025 FISU World University Games Rhine-Ruhr and in Turin. This is a wonderful platform for our student-athletes to showcase their skills in managing their dual careers."

Eric Saintrond, FISU Secretary General, said: "Eurosport has been a trusted and consistent partner for many years and I am delighted that it will continue to promote the values of FISU and multi-sport competitions to its vast audience. We have many stories that deserve to be told".

Trojan Paillot, SVP Sports Rights Acquisitions and Syndications at Warner Bros. Discovery Sports Europe, said: "The World University Games is a true celebration of sporting prowess and friendship, bringing together the next generation of world-class athletes to promote the power of sport and education."

"Building on our reputation as a trusted partner to numerous federations, we are delighted to be working with the FISU to provide a platform for their flagship events to reach millions of viewers across Europe and Asia and we look forward to bringing the stories of the competition and its sporting stars to our audiences," he added.

Warner Bros. Discovery is the home of the Olympic Games in Europe, showing more Olympic sports throughout the year than any other broadcaster. Its channels and platforms, including Eurosport, discovery+ and Max, will be the only places to watch every moment of Paris 2024 live this summer.
