The Italian Ice Sports Federation (FISG) has renewed its partnership with FILA through to Milan Cortina 2026 Olympics after a successful outing at Beijing 2022.

Apart from figure skating, short track, long track, curling, and field hockey, athletes non-Olympic sports like synchronized skating and stock sport will also benefit from the tie up from the brand created in the Biella region of the country.

FILA is also sponsoring the Dutch Olympic Committee (NOC*NSF), the Dutch Skating Federation (KNSB), and the Norwegian Skating Federation (NSF).

"We take great pride in the continuation and growth of our collaboration with FILA, a respected and prestigious brand synonymous with excellence," FISG President Andrea Gios said.

"It has been pivotal for our success in the speed events during the last Olympic cycle.

"With this partnership, we know that all our athletes will be fitted out in the highest-quality apparel—functional and cutting-edge on the rink, refined and elegant off the ice.

"By extending our partnership to include the Junior National Teams and Paralympic disciplines, we are also sending an important message, one that celebrates a new generation and expresses the richness of diversity.

We are beyond pleased and look forward to celebrating this collaboration with future athletic achievements on the global stage."

The "360-degree sponsorship" will include kits including competition and training attire for senior and junior teams until 2026.

Italy ice sports members contributed to nine of the 17 medals won by the country at the Games in Beijing, including gold in mixed doubles curling and women's 500 metres short track speed skating.

Italy are 12th in the overall medals table in Winter Olympics with 42 gold, 43 silver and 56 bronze medals.

The country has hosted the Winter Games thrice - Rome 1960, Cortina d'Ampezzo 1956, and Turin 2006.

"FILA has committed to help strengthen the value and importance of competitive winter sports, a mission that is unquestionably shared with FISG, Luca Bertolino, FILA head of global strategic marketing," said.

"As an Italian brand, sponsoring the Italian teams in this arena is as good as it gets, and we know that together we will continue to make history in national and international competitions.

"Not only do we both share a passion for winter sports but also an emotional connection to our country.

"For a sports apparel brand, having the opportunity to outfit a home team, as FILA will do at the Milano - Cortina Winter Games in 2026, is an incredible responsibility that comes with the highest honour."

Milan Cortina 2026 Olympics is scheduled to be held from February 6 to 22.
