The Argentine Olympic Committee (COA) has signed a cooperation agreement with the Argentine Red Cross (CRA).

The partnership is aimed at developing projects in the areas of teaching, science, technological research and innovation, extension, publishing, cultural and sports.

COA President Mario Moccia and secretary general Víctor Sergio Groupierre was preset during the signing of the agreement along with CRA chief Diego Tipping and executive director José Scioli.

"For the COA, the signing of this agreement is very important because we consider the need to know how physical activity and sport impact health, and if we have concrete data we will be able to work and raise better awareness about this aspect," Moccia said.

"Taking into account the experience that the Argentine Red Cross has in health matters and that we have in sports, it seemed to us to be a very good partnership."

The agreement will see the two bodies create the Argentine Observatory of Active Life to work together on social sciences and biological sciences to get national reach.

"Sport is one of our main tools in daily work," Tipping said.

"We work together with the most vulnerable communities, putting the person at the centre and sport is a unique vehicle because there is nothing that equals more than sport."

Scioli added that the partnership will allow CRA "to have basic information that gives us a real overview of the situation of the sports infrastructure linked to the social."
