Mirisa Ohuchi and Nodoka Yamada are set to meet in an all-Japanese women's kata final at the Karate 1-Series A in Konya.

Ohuchi and Yamada top scored in the two groups with 41.9 and 41.3 points respectively to seal her place in the gold-medal match in the Turkish city.

There is also Japanese representation in the two bronze-medal clashes with Keito Tano taking on Portugal’s Ana Cruz and Kurumi Kato facing Turkey’s Keyda Colak.

Turkey will be eyeing home gold in the men’s team kata event as they advanced to the final where they will meet Kuwait.

The host nation also enjoyed success in the men’s kumite under-75 category with Omer Yurur and Eren Akkurt progressing to the final after seeing off Iran’s Mahdi Shahgol and Ukraine’s Oleksandr Cherniaiev respectively.

The men’s kumite over-84kg final will be contested between Sanad Sufyani of Saudi Arabia and Anes Bostandzic of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Sufyani downed Tunisia’s Edin Choiya Houssem while Bostandzic defeated Jordan’s Mahmoud Sajan in the semi-finals.

Alireza Akbari of Iran takes on Chinese Taipei’s Wu Chun Wei saw off Georgian opposition in Khvicha Kiparoidze and Luka Vasadze respectively to move through to the men’s kumite under-84kg final.

The women’s kumite under-68kg gold-medal match will see see Italy’s Pamela Bodei and Kazakhstan’s Laura Alikul go head-to-head, while Shima Alesaadi and Salehi Laleh Marzi Hananeh will meet in an all-Iranian women’s kumite over-68kg final.
