The Chengdu 2021 International University Sports Federation (FISU) World University Games museum is expected to be available to the public during the opening of the competition.

The museum is in its final stages of construction, and the main exhibition is now ready.

It will be located at the main stadium of Dong'an Lake Sports Park in Longquanyi, China, where it will have a total area of 3,300 square metres.

The museum will be the first in western China to embody an international multi-sport event, where visitors can learn about the event's history and experience sporting culture.

Experts and citizen representatives had a chance to visit the main exhibitition earlier this month in an exchange symposium.

Opening a museum prior to a sports event is a part of China's culture, as museums have opened for prior games.

Examples include the Beijing Olympics Museum, the Museum of Guangzhou Asian Games, and the Nanjing Olympic Museum.

The Chengdu 2021 Games were postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic.

It will now take place from July 28 to August 8, 2023.
