The Global Association of Mixed Martial Arts (GAMMA) has entered a partnership with combat sports-specific social media platform Fight Scout.

Fight Scout has been likened to LinkedIn through its ability for athletes, managers and organisations to make connections and find fights, managers and events.

GAMMA believes that the partnership will allow its community to grow their networks, promote activities and events, and potentially generate revenue.

Its President Alexander Engelhardt hailed the capabilities of Fight Scout.

"We are always looking at innovative ways to support our community and to find ways to stay connected while showcasing the incredible value of our sport," the Dutch official said.

"We have all experienced the power and reach of LinkedIn and we are excited to be part of this new journey with Fight Scout for the future of our sport."

Fight Scout was created by professional mixed martial arts (MMA) fighters, athletes from other combat sports, judges, referees, managers and promoters.

Its founder Lubomir Guedjev is credited with helping to develop MMA and jiu-jitsu in his native Bulgaria and in the Middle East.

He is excited to be working with GAMMA.

"We know how important engaging with the International Federations is if we want the platform to be a success," he acknowledged.

"We are delighted to be working with GAMMA and thank them for their trust in us.

"We are confident that together we will be able to provide even more great opportunities for the GAMMA community."

GAMMA has a long-term ambition for MMA to become an Olympic sport.
