Hosts Uganda qualified for the semi-finals of the women's event as round robin action concluded at the International Basketball Federation 3x3 Africa Cup in Kampala.

Uganda beat Nigeria 18-15 and Kenya 13-11 to finish second in Pool A at the Lugogo Hockey Pitch.

Nigeria won the group after overcoming Burundi 19-11 to join Uganda in the semi-finals.

Uganda will face Egypt, who finished second in Pool B.

Egypt were 21-12 victors over Botswana to seal their spot in the next round.

Two-time defending champions Mali eased to a 21-8 win over Benin in their final group game and will play Nigeria for a place in the final.

In the men's tournament, Kenya topped Pool A with one win and one loss.

Kenya were on the wrong side of a 14-13 scoreline in their opening contest with Niger but recovered to beat Botswana 21-19.

Botswana overcame Niger 13-8 to progress in second place.

Egypt won Pool B after they defeated Mali 21-17 and Benin 21-15.

Mali took second place following 21-12 win over Benin.

In the quarter-finals, hosts Uganda face Mali, Kenya play the Democratic Republic of Congo, Egypt entertain Nigeria and Madagascar go up against Botswana.

Knockout matches in the men's and women's events will be held on the final day of the competition tomorrow.
