Jochen Farber is to act as a liaison between the Swiss and Spanish offices of the Olympic TV Channel

Jochen Färber, a close ally of International Olympic Committee (IOC) President Thomas Bach, is to move to a new role coordinating between the Swiss and Spanish entities of the OIympic TV Channel, while Germany's Marcus Hausen has replaced him as Bach's chief of staff.

Hausen, a 43-year-old law doctorate who is also an active rower and diver, has spent the past three years running the regional office of the Senator for the economy, technology and research in Berlin.

This forms part of seven years of experience in Governmental offices within Germany.

The official is expected to travel with Bach on many of his international trips, as Farber has since assuming the position in 2013 when Bach replaced Jacques Rogge as President.

His decision to shift roles to heading the Swiss-arm of the TV Channel shows the importance of the project, a key facet of Bach's Agenda 2020 reform process.

A journalist by training and a communication and marketing expert, Färber has a long and extensive experience in the world of sport both from the media and management sides.

As well as working for the International Paralympic Committee and as head of broadcasting at the International Fencing Federation, he has also worked for Eurosport, the television giants who will broadcast the Olympic Games across Europe as part of a deal starting in 2018 to cover two Olympic cycles.

This marks the latest in a number of IOC personnel changes this year, with Pere Miró promoted to the new post of IOC Deputy Director General for Relations with the Olympic Movement and the role of communications director Mark Adams evolving to become closer to Bach.

Christian Klaue, the former head of media relations at the German Olympic Sports Confederation, has also taken up a new IOC communications post this month focused around working with German-speaking countries.
