Julius Bär Bank becomes one of the sponsors of Swiss University Sport and the two parties sign an agreement to work together for the next three years with the aim of deepening a single goal in mind: "Supporting the leaders of tomorrow". The aim is to promote of the combination of sport and study.

The first meeting of the YouMind (Youth Individual Sports Mindset) project partners took place on 22 January in Ljubljana, Slovenia. The meeting was organised by the European University Sports Association (EUSA). 

Doha University of Science and Technology (UDST), in collaboration with FISU, and the Qatar Collegiate Sports Federation (QCSF), organised the first "Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Universities Sport & Wellness Symposium 2024" a prestigious event held from 14-16 January.

Elin Schagerström, a 23-year-old student at Luleå University of Technology, was the biggest star at the 2024 FISU World University Championship Ski Orienteering by winning the gold medal in the sprint, the pursuit, the middle distance and the sprint relay together with Jonatan Ståhl!

The 2024 FISU World University Championship Ski Orienteering is halfway through. After the sprint and the pursuit at the weekend, the middle distance and sprint relays are still to come in Leiderheide, Switzerland.

In just one year, the FISU World University Games Winter Torino 2025 will kick off with the Opening Ceremony on 13 January 2025 and the final day of competition 11 days later on 23 January.

The FISU World University Championship and Cups kick off on 12 January with Ski Orienteering, in Lantsch/Lenz/Lenzerheide, Switzerland, where the best student athletes in the discipline are ready to compete in optimal conditions until 16 January.

Dr Harvey, who passed away aged 64, joined the FISU International Medical Committee in 1999 and contributed extensively in various roles. FISU mourns the loss of a person who is being remembered for "her personal qualities, her dedication and her professionalism."

2024 brings a lot of news for FISU America, as three countries in the region will host FISU competitions, welcoming hundreds of student athletes from around the world to compete in their sports.

The University of Florida is embarking on a multi-faceted initiative to propel the university onto the global stage in sports performance, health care and communication, while showcasing its world-class sport facilities and partnerships. 

An external investigation team is investigating a volleyball coach at the University of Idaho for alleged misconduct in his role. It began in November 2023, but was delayed until the end of the volleyball season at the request of the complainants.

Situated in the Italian Alps, Val de Zoldo hosted the first edition of the European University Winter Championships from 18-21 December, organised by the European University Sports Association (EUSA) in collaboration with the local hosts.

It will be a special New Year's Eve with the theme "Torino 2025", on the occasion of the first anniversary of the World University Games Winter, which will take place from 13 to 23 January 2025 in Torino, Torre Pellice, Pinerolo, Bardonecchia and Pragelato.

The city of Pereira in Colombia will be the epicentre of this major event organised by the International University Sports Federation (FISU) - the Pereira Risaralda - FISU World University Championship Finswimming 2024.

The first meeting of the FISU International Volunteer Programme (IFVP) took place on 18 December and on 20 December the FISU Springboard Programme for 2024 had its inaugural meeting.
