Reporter Patrick Burke has travelled to the United Arab Emirates for the prestigious event which will be hosted by the capital city’s Yas Island.

His LIVE BLOG coverage starts today and will include the elite women’s race tomorrow and the elite men’s action which is due to bring the event to a close on Saturday.





In the women’s race, Britain’s Georgia Taylor-Brown leads Bermuda’s Olympic champion Flora Duffy by a narrow margin in the overall standings so an exciting conclusion to the season is in store.

The men’s event will see the likes of New Zealand’s Hayden Wilde and Britain’s Alex Yee battling for gold.

Age-group and Para races will also be taking place across the three days at what promises to be a festival of triathlon.
