do-you-know
insidethegames.biz is reporting LIVE from the XXVI ANOC General Assembly in Seoul?

Editor-in-chief Duncan Mackay, senior reporter Geoff Berkeley and junior reporter Patrick Burke have travelled to the South Korean capital to bring all the news from this key meeting of the world’s 206 National Olympic Committees.

The 26th edition of the General Assembly will be held at the Coex Convention and Exhibition Center today and tomorrow in the city which hosted the 1988 Summer Olympic Games.

Seoul was originally due to host the meeting in 2020, and is finally doing so two years late after delays caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Top of the agenda will be the election of Fiji’s Robin Mitchell as permanent ANOC President.

Mitchell has been serving as Acting President since 2018 due to the legal difficulties faced by Sheikh Ahmad Al-Fahad Al-Sabah, but will now take the job full time as he is running unopposed.

He will take over at a key time for the umbrella organsiation, with some questioning its purpose and accusing it of becoming an International Olympic Committee puppet.

There could be some pressing questions from the floor in Seoul and you will not miss a thing with our LIVE BLOG.
