GB_Taekwondo_kit_deal_September_2011October 2 - GB Taekwondo has announced a new partnership with Cimac to provide their academy and teams with Adidas suits, pads and protectors during the buildup to the London 2012 Olympic Games.


The deal also means that Cimac, who are the exclusive Adidas taekwondo equipment distributor in the UK, will provide the apparel in the period before the 2013 World Championships,

David Mills, the managing director of Cimac, said: "We are both excited and honoured to be sponsoring GB Taekwondo and look forward to enjoying in their success over the next few years, especially in what we believe will be a medal winning 2012 Olympic Games."

His sentiments were echoed by Gary Hall, GB Taekwondo's performance director, who said: "I'm delighted to be working with both adidas and Cimac to ensure that our athletes are fully equipped to perform at their optimum level in training and in competition.

"The technical quality and design of their performance clothing and equipment will be a key factor in providing our GB athletes with the best possible chance to succeed at the European Championships 2012, the Worlds and of course at London 2012."

The team wore the equipment at British International Open in Manchester this weekend, as the team gear up for London 2012.

In Beijing 2008 Britain took just a single bronze through Sarah Stevenson in the heavyweight +67 division, and she will be looking to claim gold next year after winning her third world taekwondo championship title in South Korea earlier this year.

With rising stars Aaron Cook and Jade Jones also in contention for medals next year, GB Taekwondo will be optimistic on improving on their haul from Beijing.
