Australia's Aron Sherriff won two titles as the 2023 World Bowls Indoor Championships concluded on his home turf in Warilla.

The Australian won the men's singles and also teamed up with Kelsey Cottrell to claim the mixed pairs crown at the Warilla Bowls and Recreation Club.

In the singles, Sherriff prevailed after a tie-break to beat New Zealand's Andrew Kelly.

The 37-year-old three-time Commonwealth Games medallist, who won an outdoor world title in the fours in 2012, came through 10-8, 5-8, 1-0.

Sherriff and Cottrell then won the mixed pairs in straight sets against Scotland's Julie Forrest and Michael Stepney.

The Australians won 5-4, 6-5.

There was something to celebrate for Forrest, however, as she won the women's singles by beating Katelyn Inch of New Zealand.

Fifty-four-year-old Forrest triumphed after also needing a tiebreak, 6-5, 2-8, 1-0.

It meant she defended the title she won in Bristol in England last year.
