All 329 medal events will be shown as well as full-event replays, in addition to the coverage on the NBC television channel.

Curated video clips, virtual channels and exclusive original programming has also been promised for next year's Games, as well as Twitter content.

The American media rights for the Olympics are owned by NBCUniversal until 2032, with Paris 2024 set to break its record for broadcast hours.

On television, NBC will show at least nine hours of daytime coverage including live finals in the flagship sports athletics, gymnastics and swimming.

Because of the timezone difference between France and the United States, many events will be shown in the morning and afternoon.

A three-hour primetime show will then be aired on NBC to cover the day just gone in Paris.

"The Paris Olympics are going to be the most binge-worthy event of 2024," said Pete Bevacqua, the NBC Sports chairman.

"Viewers will devour every moment of the Games for 17 straight nights on NBC in primetime where the stories of the day will be retold with special dramatic flair in front of the gathered American audience.

"For those wanting to watch the competition as it happens, Peacock will have everything live, creating the greatest single destination in sports media history. 

"From the spectacular landmarks of Paris to the world's greatest athletes performing in front of full stadiums and arenas for the first time in six years, viewers can expect one of the most extraordinary Olympics ever."

NBCUniversal signed its current Olympic deal with the International Olympic Committee in 2014, with both parties penning a huge $7.65 billion (£6.1 billion/€7 billion) arrangement. 

This financial clout has given the network considerable influence, including successfully lobbying for morning swimming finals at Tokyo 2020 so they would be shown during American primetime. 

By 2032, NBCUniversal will have covered 23 Olympic Games since its first broadcast in Tokyo in 1964.

Telemundo, also owned by NBCUniversal, will provide coverage of Paris 2024 in Spanish.

The Paris 2024 Olympics are due to take place between July 26 and August 11 next year. 

NBC will also cover the Paralympics between August 28 and September 8.
