The United States have dominated the final day of the Pan-American Wrestling Championships as they took all but one gold medal available in Buenos Aires.

Thomas Gilman began proceedings by defending his under-57-kilograms title with a resounding victory against Puerto Rico's Darian Cruz at Tecnopolis.

Across all three of his bouts, the 28-year-old Olympic bronze medallist outscored his opponents 32-0 on aggregate and finished off Cruz 10-0 in the decider.

World silver medallist John Diakomihalis faced off against Cuban Alejandro Valdes in the under-65kg final.

He overcame a cagey start to prevail 4-1 against the two-time world medallist.

In the under-70kg event, Zain Retherford was flawless on his run to the gold and in the final he defeated Canadian Connor Quinton by fall.

Two world champions from the US added more gold medals to the country's tally as Kyle Dake and Kyle Snyder won the under-74kg and under-97kg weight classes, respectively.

Outscoring his opponents 40-0 in four bouts, Dake put on a commanding performance and defeated Puerto Rico's Franklin Gomez 10-0 to defend his title in a rematch of last year's decider.

Snyder was similarly dominant in his final as he defeated Arturo Silot Torres 14-3 for gold.

Vitali Arujau cruised to glory in the under-61kg tournament and secured a comprehensive 11-0 win against Joseph Silva of Puerto Rico.

Another US triumph came courtesy of Dominique Bradley who scraped past Jose Robertti of Venezuela 2-1 to clinch his third continental title, six years after his second.

Cuba's Yurieski Torreblanca prevented an American clean sweep with victory against Mark Hall in the under-86kg semi-final.

He then went on to beat Canadian Alexander Moore 5-1 in the final.
