The British Paralympic Association (BPA) is looking to recruit a new project manager in the build-up to next year’s Paralympics in Paris.

UK Sport, the Government funding agency, has joined forces with the BPA to create the role that will look to "manage, implement and monitor two transformational new projects."

The BPA is aiming to develop and launch a new "ParalympicsGB Athlete Community" for present and past Paralympians.

The new project manager will be tasked with the role of developing the community by engaging Paralympians and signposting them to support available.

They are also set to be responsible for implementing the "Social Impact Opportunities Project" around the staging of seven major Para sports events that are due to be held in Britain this year.

"The BPA are seeking to effect greater change through a collective approach to social impact activity and storytelling across the events," a statement from the BPA read.

"The implementation of the project will require project managing stakeholders and agencies to develop, implement and monitor an accessible toolkit, storytelling toolkit, event workforce training, and consistent measurement and evaluation framework across the seven events."

The winning candidate will secure a contract until the end of March 2024 and be required to work remotely and at the BPA headquarters in London.

"You will have a passion for enhancing inclusive sport and physical activity events and activities for disabled people and enabling Paralympians to come together to celebrate their successes and use their voice for social change," the BPA added.

"We’re looking for someone who’s excited by a busy and wide-ranging role and will have the skillset to project manage two separate yet interconnecting projects, whilst also being happy to step up and get involved across the organisation.

"The successful candidate will be supported every step of the way on their journey with the BPA.

"We are committed to giving people a positive team experience and are committed to helping all our staff develop their skills and reach their full potential."

Applications must be submitted before May 5 with interviews due to be held on May 17.
