The Bolivian Sambo Federation have signed an agreement with the Bolivian Air Force that allows the development of sambo amongst military personnel as they learn the sport.

Local sambo players performed for the military at an event where they demonstrated the sport.

Cesar Castro, President of the Bolivian Sambo Federation, spoke about the event.

"At the master class, the servicemen not only saw the sambo technique, but also tried to master some of the techniques themselves," he said.

"As a result, more than 30 participants of the event expressed their desire to practice SAMBO on a permanent basis.

"We plan to organize a section for them, where we will focus on the applied elements of the martial art that can be useful in the performance of military duty."

Bolivia are now preparing for the first ever Pan American Cadets, Youth and Junior SAMBO Championships, due to be held next month.
