Kendall Gretsch won three cross-country skiing and three Para biathlon medals at the Para Nordic Skiing World Cup in Soldier Hollow in the United States.

American Gretsch, who won three biathlon medals at the Beijing 2022 Winter Paralympics took the World Cup women’s sprint cross-country classic sitting title in 3min 58.37sec.

Silver went to Germany’s Anja Wicker in 4:06.81, with bronze going to Christina Picton of Canada in 4:27.09.

In the women’s five kilometres sitting, the order was the same as the women’s sprint classic sitting a day earlier.

Gretsch took gold in 15:58.5, with silver to Wicker and the podium completed by Picton.

Gretsch was also victorious in the women’s 20km freestyle sitting, taking the win in a calculated time of 1hr 6min 18.4sec.

Wicker earned silver in 1:09.19.6, with Erin Martin of the United States claiming bronze in 1:21.28.4.

In biathlon, Gretsch took victory in the women’s 12.5km individual sitting class, winning in 46:05.3, with Wicker and Picton once again earning silver and bronze.

A fifth gold of the World Cup came Gretsch’s way in the women’s 7.5km sprint sitting, as she took the victory in 29:25.1, with Wicker in the silver medal position.

It was the same one-two in the sprint pursuit sitting, with Gretsch claiming victory in 10:35.1.

Italy’s Giuseppe Romele also claimed two gold medals in men’s competition, with his first coming in the men’s five kilometres free sitting, in a calculated time of 13:46.9

Romele took a second gold of the World Cup in the men’s 20km freestyle sitting, with victory in a calculated time of 56:10.5.

In the men’s sprint classic sitting category victory went to Canada’s Collin Cameron, a three-time Paralympic medallist, in 3min 18.79sec.

The men’s sprint classic standing title was won by Benjamin Daviet of France, who won four medals at Beijing 2022 in Para cross-country skiing and biathlon, in 4:02.07.

Two Japanese athletes completed the podium, with silver going to Taiki Kawayoke in 4:13.86 and bronze to Yoshihiro Nitta in 4:26.21.

Norwegian Vilde Nilsen took the women’s sprint classic standing title in 4:17.19, with the only other competitor to record a run in the final, Brittany Hudak of Canada, finishing second in 4:35.97.

In men’s biathlon events, Taras Rad of Ukraine took victory in the men’s 12.5km individual sitting discipline in a time of 41:21.5.

Rad took a second gold in the men’s 7.5km sprint sitting in 25:25.4, with fellow Ukrainians Pavlo Bal and Vasyl Kravchuk sharing second place in 25:37.4.

In the men’s sprint pursuit sitting Rad claimed a third gold of the event as he triumphed in the final in 9:46.4, while in the men’s sprint pursuit standing victory went to Germany’s Marco Maier in 10:51.8.  

Finally, there was another Ukrainian on top of the podium in the women’s sprint pursuit standing, with victory going to Bohdana Konashiuk in 12:31.6.
