Aleksander Aamodt Kilde of Norway added yet another International Ski and Snowboard Federation (FIS) Alpine Ski World Cup title by claiming the downhill gold in Aspen.

The two-time Olympic medallist also secured the downhill Crystal Globe as he clocked 1min 31.60sec to defend his title from 2022.

The Norwegian, who secured the fifth Crystal Globe of his career, described the feeling as "incredible".

"It is amazing to be a part of this fight with the top athletes in the world," he said after the win.

"To be able to win the crystal globe is incredible.

"It is so fun and just have to keep on pushing and try to do it next year again."

The win in Aspen was the sixth downhill gold of the season for the 30-year-old, making him the first skier to win at least six of the same discipline in a single season.

"I have been in Aspen since I was four," Kilde added.

"I have family here and they are always supporting.

"I really love them and them being here today is incredible.

"It could not have been much better honestly."

The silver medal went to Canadian James Crawford, who clocked 1:32.21.

With that, the Olympic bronze medallist, who super-G gold at the World Championships earlier, has three World Cup podiums this season.

Olympic giant slalom champion of Switzerland settled for the bronze medal in 1:32.23.

He is one course to be the overall champion this season after finishing on the podium 17 times.
