France's Axelle Gachet-Mollaret and Rémi Bonnet from Switzerland added to their vertical victories, with wins in the individual event, on the final day of the Morgins leg of the International Ski Mountaineering Federation (ISMF) World Cup.

Gachet Mollaret was dominant in the women's event, finishing in a time of 1 hour 27min 14sec, nearly two minutes in front of the silver medallist and World Cup leader, Italy's Giulia Murada.

Her compatriot and sprint winner Emily Harrop was four seconds adrift of second place, but over four minutes in front of Alba de Silvestro, another Italian, in fourth.

Spain's Ana Alonso Rodriguez finished fifth.

"I know I am the strongest in uphills, so I tried to create an advantage there," said Gachet-Mollaret.

"In the downhills, I was trying to go fast but to be able to control it. 

"I am satisfied with the course, with my performance and the whole week in Switzerland."

It was her 10th World Cup victory in a row in individual racing, stretching back to February 2021.

Bonnet was as in control in the men's race, finishing in a time of 1:24:56 for the gold medal, beating France's Xavier Gachet by 46 seconds.

Matteo Eydallin from Italy was 33 seconds behind for the bronze medal, beating compatriots Nadir Maguet and Robert Antonioli to the podium.

"This was my best feeling ever, even better than on Wednesday," said Bonnet. 

"I enjoyed the race, but in the last uphill, I was very happy that there it was the very last one."
