The International Sambo Federation (FIAS) is planning to hold a seminar for coaches and secretary referees in Serbia.

Novi Sad is set to host the international seminar, supported by the National Sambo Federation of Serbia.

The coaches training seminar is scheduled to take place on February 2 and 3, followed by another one for secretary referees on February 4 and 5.

Interested participants can register for the event on the FIAS electronic database.

"Seminars will be held on the basis of the Faculty of Sport and Physical Education," a statement from FIAS.

The International Federation is planning an exam, with coaches who qualify set to receive a degree of 1st level.

The secretaries will also receive a "qualification secretary’s degree" for passing the exam.

The Serbian organisers have advised interested participants to register in advance.

Costs for accommodation, transfers and meals is the responsibility of the respective National Federations and organisations sending their team.

Sambo is set to celebrate its 85th year in 2023.

It was recognised as an official sport by the USSR All-Union Sports Committee in 1938.
