A PhD student from India is set to be involved in a Paris 2024 taekwondo referee camp.

World Taekwondo has selected Dipshikha Baruah, who is currently pursuing her doctorate in physical education from Lovely Professional University.

Baruah is a black belt 3rd Dan and is also an international referee.

The Paris 2024 Olympic Games International Referee Selection and Training Camp for Asia and Oceania is set to be held from February 12 to 14 in Tashkent in Uzbekistan, according to The Tribune.

The Pan American camp is planned to be held in Mexico while Belgium will host the one for Europe and Africa.

The camp in Uzbekistan is expected to see 100 referee trainees.

Baruah is also a World Taekwondo Level 2 coach.

The taekwondo at Paris 2024 is scheduled to be held from August 7 to 10.

Taekwondo made its Olympic debut as a demonstration sport at Seoul 1988.

It was once again introduced as a demonstration event in Barcelona 1992.

It appeared as a full medal sport since Sydney 2000 and has appeared in every edition since then.
