Prior to the Games, these embassies are to play a role in getting as many French nationals involved in related events.

Their involvement in the Games also looks to improve France's economic and cultural attractiveness, while building closer links between the nation and National Olympic and Paralympic Committees.

Some of these participated in Olympic Day celebrations in their respective host countries, promoting France in the build-up to the next Olympics and Paralympics, including institutions in Slovenia, Kenya, Philippines and Argentina.

Between January and September of last year, 22 embassies identified 257 candidates for the Paris 2024 volunteer programme too, who can speak over 20 languages between them.

The French Embassy in Benin held a photo exhibition, highlighting four athletes for their social commitments. 

These were Marie-Amélie Le Fur, Aya Cissoko, Arnaud Assoumani and Patricio Manuel.

Olympic and Paralympic Week were also implemented by the embassies in French schools as part of the Agency for French Education Abroad network, which has 63 schools and over 30,000 students. 

The French Embassies in Belgium, Greece, Germany and Italy hosted stages of the Flag Tour in Europe in December - a collaboration between Paris 2024 and Milan Cortina 2026, who are to host the next two stages of the Games.
