Tournaments in Spain and the United Arab Emirates have been added to next year's Para badminton calendar.

It means there are 17 tournaments on the Badminton World Federation (BWF) calendar next year, all due to be part of the Paralympic qualification system.

The Spanish Para Badminton International in Cartagena from March 1 to 5 and Dubai Para Badminton International from December 13 to 17 are the new additions.

Twelve are Para Badminton World Circuit events and five Continental Championships.

The Asian Para Games in Hangzhou and Parapan American games in Santiago are due to fulfil that function for Asia and the Americas.

Eleven countries are due to hold Para Badminton World Circuit tournaments.

Badminton made its Paralympic debut at Tokyo 2020 and is on the programme again for Paris 2024.

The BWF has been given a quota of 120 athletes and 16 medal events are planned, up from 14 at Tokyo 2020.

Asian shutters won 13 gold medals in Japan's capital, with China topping the medals table on five gold and 10 in all.

The Paris 2024 qualification window will run until March 31 2024 and there are presently three further tournaments scheduled in 2024 before the deadline.

Among those events is the World Championships in Pattaya.
