The Hangzhou 2022 Asian Games caught the eye when a theme pavilion was put in place at the China International Import Expo (CIIE).

It was Hangzhou 2022’s third appearance at the CIIE as organisers aim to promote the Games before the postponed continental multi-sport event takes place next year.

The pavilion is jointly established by the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) and Hangzhou 2022 Asian Games Organising Committee.

It focuses on displaying the aesthetics of the Asian Games such as mascots, emblems, slogans, core graphics and colour systems, as well as songs and licensed products.

According to Hangzhou 2022, thousands of people including "mysterious guests" were attracted to the six-day theme pavilion.

Among those in attendance included Taiwanese singer and actor Nicky Wu who interacted with the mascots, Torches and the official posters on his visit.

"The theme pavilion is located in Shanghai, which makes Hangzhou people in Shanghai feel very friendly, and attracts the friends from all over the world to focus on Hangzhou 2022 Asian Games," a statement from Hangzhou 2022 read.

Hangzhou 2022 is scheduled to be China's third staging of the Asian Games, following Beijing 1990 and Guangzhou 2010.

Dates of September 23 to October 8 next year have been set by the OCA.
