USA Curling has elected a new chair and vice-chair, with the previous head of the Board resigning with two others.

Previous chair Lynn LaRocca has left along with independent directors Shane Coppola and Hawley McLean, with Bret Jackson becoming the new chair, joined by Colin Hufman as vice-chair.

USA Curling was appreciative of the work of the departing individuals.

"All three have served with distinction, devoting countless hours on behalf of our sport," said USA Curling in a statement.

"Each has provided perspectives and ideas that have been valuable, and we thank them for their time and dedication."

Jackson was elected to the Board at the Members Assembly last month, having served nationally, regionally and locally in curling.

He was previously the President of the Detroit Curling Club and is a representative from the Great Lakes and Midwest Curling Associations on the USA Curling Board.

"Athletes, whether they are recreational or high performance, are who this organisation needs to be dedicated to serving," said Jackson.

"I am volunteering to help be part of the change, and I hope many of my fellow grassroots curlers join me.

"Together we can show how special this sport and its people are."

Hufman comes from Fairbanks Curling Club and is a member of John Shuster's men's national team - acting as an alternate for the rink at the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympic Games.

He has been a member of the USA Curling Athletes' Advisory Council since 2017 and a director since 2020.

Hufman is also curling's representative on the United States Olympic and Paralympic Committee Athletes' Advisory Council.
