A European University Sports Association (EUSA) delegation has visited Zagreb to assess venues due to be used during next year's European Universities Combat Sports Championships.

The Croatian capital held the inaugural edition of the event in 2019 and is due to do the same again next year.

Taekwondo, judo, karate and kickboxing will all be on the programme.

Judo technical delegate Wieslaw Black, taekwondo counterpart Nuri Shirali, karate's Luka Pozgaj and Romeo Desa, the kickboxing technical delegate, were all in the visiting group.

EUSA sports manager Miha Zvan and assistant sports manager Mariano Carcatella led the delegation.

They visited taekwondo venue Hall Kutija Sibica, karate venue Sports Hall Bojan Stranic, Hall Dom Sportova - set to stage judo - and Hall of Kinezioloski Fakultet, where kickboxing is planned.

The one-day visit also included a trip to dormitories, the planned catering area and the accreditation centre.

A final meeting assessed the Organising Committee's progress and highlighted areas to address.

The EUSA reports the delegation was happy with what it found in Zagreb and congratulated organisers on their progress to date.
