Tokyo 2020 floor gold medallist Jade Carey of the US leads the vault standings after amassing 14.483 points with a sensational routine.

The result put her narrowly ahead of compatriot Jordan Chiles on 14.316.

Belgium's Lisa Vaelen holds third place on 13.499 points while her countrywoman Nina Derwael leads Jones and Chiles in the uneven bars.

The Belgian notched up 14.700 points while the Americans make up the top three on 14.566 and 14.066, respectively.

The US duo battled in the other events too as Chiles took a surprise lead in the floor with 14.100 points to pip Carey's 14.066.

Another American, in the form of Shilese Jones, follows close behind with 13.800 points.

The upper echelons of the balance beam standings are also monopolised by the US.

Skye Blakely holds pole position with 13.733 points while Jones and Carey are in second and third on 13.200 and 13.133 points, respectively.

The results leave Jones in charge in the all-around standings with 55.766 points.

Carey's 55.132 puts her in second, ahead of Chiles with 53.998.

Competition is set to continue tomorrow with the remaining women's qualification events across seven more subdivisions.
