Ella Bucio of Mexico and Bohdan Kolmakov of Ukraine won the women’s freestyle and men’s speed titles at the first International Gymnastics Federation (FIG) Parkour World Championships in Tokyo.

Bucio claimed an early lead in qualification, posting a score of 26 in the women’s freestyle, and continued all the way to finish on 27.

Yamamoto Hanaho of Japan bagged second place after finishing with 25 while Adela Merkova of the Czech Republic won bonze after posting 24.5.

"I feel a lot of things right now," Bucio said after the final.

"The other girls were so good.

"It’s difficult for me to feel competitive because everybody is so talented. Everyone deserves to be celebrated."

"I’m happy, but even if I didn’t win I would still be happy.

"I just love being here with everyone.

"The best thing about Parkour is the community. We support each other."

Lilou Ruel of France and Noa Man of The Netherlands completed the top five.

The men's speed event was a tight affair with more than 50 competitors.

With a timing of 25.25sec, Kolmakov beat Italy’s Andrea Consolini and Dutchman Tangui van Schingen for the title.

Consolini grabbed silver after finishing in 25.84.

Van Schingen won bronze in 26.37.

Emerson Ordonez of Colombia and Jaroslav of the Czech Republic finished fourth and fifth respectively.

Yesterday, the women’s speed final saw Miranda Tibbling of Sweden grab the title in 32.82.

Spain’s Stefanny Navarro on 35.03 and Ruel on 35.65 got silver and bronze.

Fourth and fifth spot went to Japan’s Hikari Izumi and Man.

The men’s freestyle saw Dimitrios Kyrsanidis bag the title in style.

He scored 26 for gold before Gaozheng Teng of China and Italian Davide Rizzi took silver and bronze.

Teng posted a score of 25.5 while Rizzi manged 24.5.

Japanese Tomoya Suzuki and Calen Chan of the United Sates rounded off the top-five.
