Austria and Spain have achieved double golds at the International Swimming Federation (FINA) Artistic Swimming World Series Super Final in Athens in Greece.

The Alexandri sisters were the starring performers for Austria as they led their country to the top of the podium in the women’s solo free and the women’s duet technical.

Vasiliki Alexandri claimed the solo free title thanks to a score of 89.4333.

Iris Tio Casas of Spain finished second with 88.2000 while Anita Alvarez of the United States secured bronze on 87.1000.

Eirini and Anna-Maria Alexandri followed up their sibling’s success by tallying 90.4430 in the duet technical.

Dutch duo Bregje de Brouwer and Marlos Steenbeek came second on 84.8617 and American pair Megumi Field and Daniella Ramirez on 84.3622.

Meanwhile, Fernando Diaz Del Rio Soto acquired 80.3333 to win the men’s solo free over Nicoló Ogliari and Kenneth Gaudet.

Ogliari of Italy scored 76.5000 and Gaudet totalled 76.4667.

Spain’s second gold came through Emma García and Pau Ribes pairing in the mixed duet technical.

The Spaniards tallied 83.3138 to defeat Gaudet and compatriot Claudia Coletti and Kazakhstan’s Eduard Kim and Zhaklin Yakimova comfortably.

The US couple achieved silver with a score of 78.3346 as Kim and Yakimova put 78.2740 points on the board.

Israel won the final gold of the day in the women’s team free after recording 85.1333.

Kazakhstan and Slovakia achieved silver and bronze, accumulating 81.5333 and 75.7333 respectively.

The competition is due to finish tomorrow.
