A meeting between the Head of Delegations (HoD) prior to the Yekaterinburg 2023 International University Sports Federation (FISU) World University Games will take place in April, four months before the Games are set to get underway.

Announced today, delegates from the FISU and the Yekaterinburg 2023 Organising Committee will meet to discuss plans for the upcoming Games.

The official dates for the HoD meeting are April 25 to 28 2023.

Yekaterinburg 2023 is set to get underway on August 8 the same year, concluding on August 19.

The meeting, it is claimed, will provide delegation officials from around the world with a "glimpse of what they can expect for the FISU Games."

The Organising Committee will provide an update on how preparations are progressing, including the infrastructure required, from travel, logistics to the venues themselves.

Delegate will also have the opportunity to ask any questions.

In preparation for the FISU World University Games, Yekaterinburg is due to host the inaugural FISU World Cup Combat Sports a year prior, from September 29 to October 8.

The event is seen as a precursor to the FISU Games, with many of the venues set to be tested for the Organising Committee to monitor.
