SportAccord's International Federation (IF) Forum is set to take place tomorrow in a fully-virtual format, with this year's event focusing on the topic "Lessons We Are Learning from a Global Crisis and How Sport and Society Can Emerge Stronger".

It is set to start with a welcome address by International Olympic Committee (IOC) President Thomas Bach and an opening address by President of SportAccord and the Global Association of International Sport Federations President Raffaele Chiulli.

Ban Ki-moon, the eighth secretary general of the United Nations and chair of the IOC Ethics Commission, will provide a keynote address, which will be followed by a speech from Richard Budgett, medical and scientific director of the IOC.

World Health Organization director general Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus will also give a keynote address.

Presentations, updates, case studies and panel sessions will be provided on several topics including "Moving Forward, Pivoting and the Lessons We Are Learning", "A Return to Competition and Lessons from the Bubble", "Athletes Mental Health", "Commercial Approaches for IFs in the New Normal" and "The Virtual Experience and its Home within IFs".

"This year's IF Forum has been designed to give International Sports Federations across the world timely insights so they can emerge from the challenges of the past year-and-a-half with more knowledge and the necessary tools to recover and grow in the coming months," said Chiulli.

"We have an outstanding line-up of speakers and the SportAccord 2021 Virtual Launch Celebration will also provide an ideal opportunity to network with International Sports Federations."

The IF Forum is not open to the public or media, being an invite-only event consisting of International Federations, speakers and official IF Forum partners.

These partners are the City of Lausanne, Canton de Vaud, the City of London, OnePlan, Sociedad Peruana de Derecho Deportivo and Sport Event Denmark.

It is expected to bring together more than 300 leaders from 125 IFs.

Following the closing remarks of the IF Forum, a SportAccord 2021 Virtual Launch Celebration is set to take place less than six months before the SportAccord World Sport and Business Summit 2021, which is set for Yekaterinburg in Russia in November.
