The Moroccan National Olympic Committee (CNOM) has organised COVID-19 testing for its employees to support them during the pandemic.

A COVID-19 screening programme was held for CNOM employees earlier this month.

The initiative was implemented after Morocco experienced a surge in coronavirus cases in recent weeks.

In total, the country has reported nearly 325,000 COVID-19 cases and more than 5,300 deaths.

The CNOM insisted it is continuing to take the necessary health measures to ensure the safety of its employees.

During the pandemic, the CNOM has organised events as part of its work to support the national sports movement during lockdown.

This includes holding two online conferences on the impact of the global health crisis on athletes in May.

Some Moroccan athletes have been able to attend training camps as well.

Morocco took centre stage in African sport in 2019, hosting the African Games in capital Rabat.
