Professional and Olympic boxing stakeholders are invited to the Forum to discuss the development of the sport. 

This includes organisations such as the World Boxing Association (WBA), the World Boxing Organisation, the World Boxing Council (WBC) and the International Boxing Federation (IBF). 

Leading promoters and managers are also invited, alongside the best boxers from around the world. 

The event has not been held since 2019 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but there are plans to restore it.

The first Forum took place in the Russian city of Sochi in March 2018. 

Representatives from more than 130 countries were in attendance, with WBC Head Mauricio Suleiman, WBA President Gilberto Mendoza and IBF Head Daryl Peeples joining the IBA leadership. The only three-time Olympic boxing champion and six-time world champion Felix Savon was a special guest. 

In 2019, Yekaterinburg hosted the second edition of the Global Boxing Forum. 

The programme featured meetings, seminars, press conferences and a charity auction. 

A boxing show also took place, contested by Dmitry Kudryashov, Alexei Papin, Alexei Egorov and Evgeny Tishchenko. Firuza Sharipov and Yulia Kutsenko then battled in a women’s boxing match. 

The Forum showed off boxing in a new way, with an exciting stage design used for the Opening Ceremony to move the sport away from its traditional image. 

The Global Boxing Forum has inspired similar events in the boxing world, such as the All-Russian Boxing Forum and the IBA Continental Forums.
