Pita Taufatofua, the Tongan taekwondo player famous for parading shirtless and oiled up at the Rio 2016 and Pyeongchang 2018 Opening Ceremonies, has said that he is looking ahead to Tokyo 2020 despite his cross-country skiing exploits at the ongoing Winter Olympics.

Taufatofua appeared in the 80 kilograms taekwondo division in the Brazilian city before switching to snow and appearing in South Korea in the men's 15 kilometres freestyle.

"I feel I have got unfinished business with taekwondo," he said to the Press Association.

"The goal at Rio was to win a medal so Tokyo 2020 is on my radar.

"But who knows, you might see me in something else.

"I love all sports, it could be anything."

Taufatofua also explained how his life has changed since Rio 2016.

"There was movie stuff, modelling stuff, different sponsorship contracts," he said.

"I didn't realise how big a thing it would be for people, but my passion is pushing myself."

Despite saying he would not repeat his shirtless demonstration at the Opening Ceremony of Pyeongchang 2018, due to the cold weather, he entered the Olympic Stadium again topless and oiled on February 9.

After his Rio appearance he became an internet sensation.

The images went viral with 45 million hits registered on Google asking "Where is Tonga?" and "What Sport Does Taufatofua Do?"
