Rim Jong Sim claimed yet another weightlifting gold medal for North Korea at the Taipei 2017 Summer Universiade today.

She won the women's 75 kilograms gold to seal her country's sixth weightlifting title of Taipei 2017 at the Tamkang University Shaomo Memorial Gymnasium.

Rim collected an overall score of 260kg after posting lifts of 115kg and 145kg in the snatch and clean and jerk stages respectively.

Belarus' Darya Naumava took silver on 240kg while bronze went to Yao Chi-Ling of Chinese Taipei, who finished on a score of 236kg.

There was also Russian success in the men's 94kg category.

Egor Klimonov set a Universiade record of 215kg in the clean and jerk phase of the event as he went on to finish on a total of 383kg, which was enough to seal first place.

Rustem Sybay of Kazakhstan occupied silver medal position on 382kg while Thailand's Sarat Sumpradit completed the podium on 381kg.

In this evening's final weight category, Armenian Simon Martirosyan prevailed in the men's 105kg competition on a combined score of 401kg.

Rodion Bochkov of Russia finished way back in second place on 390kg while Kia Ghadami of Iran rounded out the podium with his total score of 381kg.

Four medals were also awarded in taekwondo today at the Taoyuan Arena.

Jaysen Scott Ishida of the United States clinched the first title of the evening.

The American defeated Ramin Hosseingholi Zadeh of Iran 18-9 to win the men's under-74kg gold medal.

Bronzes were shared between Azerbaijan's Said Guliyev and Chinese Taipei's Yang Tsung-Yeh.

Turkey's Irem Yaman brushed aside her opponent in the women's under-62kg taekwondo final.

She thrashed Moon Jisoo of South Korea 13-2 to claim the gold medal.

Italy's Daniela Rotolo and Melissa Oviedo Cardenas of Mexico completed the final positions on the podium.

Russia's Rafail Aiukaev strolled to the men's over-87kg gold after his opponent in the final, Brazil's Maicon De Andrade Siqueira, withdrew.

American Jonathan Healy and Radik Isaev of Azerbaijan completed the podium by both winning bronze medals.

The fourth and final gold medal went the way of South Korean An Saebom.

She narrowly beat Poland's Aleksandra Kowalczuk 10-8 in the final of the women's over-73kg division.

Melani Adamic-Golic of Croatia took one bronze while Briseida Acosta Balarezo of Mexico won the second.

North Korea's Kim Kuk Hyang and Hyon Il Myong sealed the mixed synchronised 10 metres platform diving title earlier this morning with an overall score of 336.78 at the University of Taipei.

Russia's Nikita Shleikher and Iuliia Timoshinina captured the silver medal on 304.80 while C. Joseph Law and Olivia Rosendahl of the US completed the top three after scoring 269.52.

Russia's Ilia Zakharov won the men's 3m springboard final.

He posted an overall score of 533.00 to finish in front of the rest of the field by quite a distance.

Zakharov's Russian team-mate Evgenii Kuznetsov won silver on 500.75 while Italian Giovanni Tocci rounded out the podium on 489.40.

Mexico's Arantxa Chavez and Melany Hernandez then sealed the third and final diving medal in the women's synchronised 3m springboard event.

A final jump of 64.80 saw them move to the top of the standings on an overall score of 290.22.

Kim Nami and Kim Suji of South Korea finished second with 280.89 while the Russian duo of Maria Polyakova and Elena Chernykh rounded out the podium with their combined total of 270.30.
