Heavy rain and strong winds yesterday caused competition to be put back 24 hours at Centennial Hall.

However, further rain today saw some of the raffa and lyonnaise medal rounds abandoned.

Instead, competition officials were forced to award medals to those who made it to the lyonnaise progressive semi-finals, based on earlier results.

France sealed both titles with Guillaume Abelfo winning the men's event and Barbara Barthet clinching the women's. 

The men's and women's raffa singles competitions have been completely abandoned and will not take place due to severe and irreparable damage to the venue.

Earlier today, while weather permitted, Argentina's Romina Bolatti and Maria Victoria Maiz won the women's raffa doubles title while Italian duo Gianluca Formicone and Giuliano Di Nicola took gold in the men's equivalent.

Xiaomin Guo of China prevailed in the women's lyonnaise precision event and Argentine Nicolas Pretto took gold in the men's competition. 

French duo Henri Lacroix and Caroline Bourriaud won the men's and women's petanque precision titles respectively.

The Thai pairing of Nantawan Fueangsanit and Phantipha Wongchuvej sealed the women's pentaque doubles title as Italy's Diego Rizzi and Fabio Dutto denied Thailand a second gold in the men's final by beating Thanakorn Sangkaew and Sarawut Sriboonpeng.

The first of two days of road speed skating began with Chile's Maria Moya winning the women's 200 metres time trial title at Millenium Park.

She posted a time of 18.840 sec, which could not be beaten.

Ying-Chu Chen of Chinese Taipei followed her onto the podium in 18.977 while another Asian competor, South Korea's Yi Seul An, clinched bronze in 19.091.

Spaniard Ioseba Fernandez won the men's 200m in 16.897. 

Germany's Simon Albrecht, who has already tasted success on the track in the 500m sprint and 300m time trial events, won his third medal of the games after taking silver in 16.907.

Frenchman Gwendal Le Pivert completed the top three in 16.930.

Track silver medallist Bart Swings claimed gold on the road as he won today's final race, the men's 20,000m elimination event.

The Belgian's time of 28:21.998 was good enough to finish top of the leader board.

Italian Daniel Niero was second in 28:22.268 with Spain's Patxi Peula rounding out the podium in 28:22.548.

Colombia's Johana Viveros reigned supreme in the women's 20,000m elimination in 33:03.821.

Sandrine Tas of Belgium claimed her third silver and fifth medal of the Games with a second place finish in 33:03.911.

The bronze medal went to Germany's Mareike Thum in 33:03.943.

Bowling action concluded today with Canadian duo Francois Lavoie and Dan Maclelland winning the men's pairs title at the Sky Tower.

The North Americans defeated Massimiliano Fridegotto and Ildemaro Ruiz of Venezuela 972-935.

Hong Kong's Michael Mak and Siu Hong Wu won the bronze medal after they defeated Mexican duo Ricardo Lecuona and Arturo Quintero 1,003-948.
