Lee targetted further success in today’s slalom event and produced the fastest opening run by clocking 39.80sec.

He backed-up that performance with a strong second run effort, giving him a combined time of 1min 16.09sec.

Japan’s Yuya Suzuki and South Korea's Kim Sang-kyum completed the top three, ending in times of 1:16.80 and 1:17.42 respectively.

The women’s event saw the duel between Japan’s Eri Yanetani and China’s Zang Ruxin continue, the pair having won the gold and silver medals in yesterday’s giant slalom.

The roles were reserved today as Zang topped the podium, completing the slalom course in a combined time of 1:23.62.

Zang’s victory completed her Asian Winter Games medal collection, having won silver and bronze at Almaty 2011.

Having recorded only the sixth fastest first run, Yanetani produced an impressive second effort to rise up the overall standings.

The home favourite secured the silver medal, but was 0.07 seconds adrift of the winner’s time.

South Korea continued their impressive performances in snowboarding as they claimed the bronze medal.

Shin Da-hae finished the event with a combined time of 1:26.42 from her two runs.

The next snowboard action at the Games is due to be on Saturday (February 25) when the men’s and women’s halfpipe finals will take place.
