IBSA have described the gathering, hosted by USA Judo at the Menomonee Judo Club, as a "unique weekend of Paralympic judo events".

It marks the first time the clinics have been held simultaneously at the same venue.

Brazilian judo legend Antonio Tenorio Silva was one of the star attractions at the technical clinic for players.

Silva, winner of six Paralympic medals, including golds at four consecutive Games from Atlanta 1996 to Athens 2008, during his career, was visiting the Menomonee Judo Club for the second time in six months.

The 46-year-old Brazilian trained in Chicago in late march ahead of competing at his home Paralympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, where he claimed the silver medal in the men’s 100 kilograms division.

Mark Vinc, team leader for the American judo squad at three Paralympic Games - Beijing 2008, London 2012 and Rio 2016 - led the coaching certification clinic.

Gary Berliner, chief referee of judo competitions at Rio 2016, was in charge of the referee clinic.

The event comes after the IBSA began its search for a host of the 2017 Judo World Championships.

The World Championships will take place between September and October next year with a call made for countries interested in hosting.

In addition, IBSA also need to name hosts for Continental Championships in Asia/Oceania, Europe, Pan America and Africa.

All of the events will begin the Paralympic cycle for judo leading up to Tokyo 2020.

A deadline of October 31 has been set for any country intending to bid.
