137442702March 16 - Gwangju 2015 is preparing to host the 2014 International University Sports Federation (FISU) Forum, which will focus on the topic of "University sport to establish networking platforms for developing professional, social, and cultural technology for future leaders".


The 2014 FISU Forum will be held at the Gwangju Kim Dae Jung Convention Centre and is due to run from March 17 to 22, with 220 attendees from 60 FISU membership countries expected.

The forum will consist of various sporting activities as well as cultural experiences and a fair, which will give federations and member nations the opportunity to set up booths to promote themselves or future events.

There will also be excursions to local tourist hotspots and historic sites in the city to promote the city and to showcase what Gwangju has to offer in the lead up to the 2015 Summer Universiade.

The biennial FISU Forum takes place every non-Universiade year, and sets out to provide a platform for stakeholders to discuss education, culture and sport, as well as promote co-operation between athletes, federations and nations to enhance the reputation of university sports.
