The legacy programme for the 2015 Universiade aims to enhance the reputation of the Federation Internationale du Sport Universitaire (FISU) and to celebrate "the spirit of the Universiade" as well as providing a sustainable legacy for developing worldwide university sports, South Korean officials claimed.

The programme also consists four projects; the creation of anti-doping textbooks, offering opportunities to up-and-coming sports journalists, encouraging female sports leaders and exploring the possibility of uniting the North Korea and South Korea teams, in collaboration with the United Nations.

The anti-doping textbooks, which are being created in association with the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) and FISU, aim to teach university students of the dangers of doping, with the aim of discouraging the use of performance-enhancing drugs.

The Young Reporters' Programme will provide opportunities to university students to experience sports journalism at the Universiade, which could in turn increase exposure for the Games.

This programme will also feature training courses and interview opportunities to students, and will be run with the International Sports Press Association (AIPS).

The Young Women Sports Leaders' Programme aims to engage more women in sport in order to promote participation in sport through mentoring.

Uniting the North and South Korean teams for the first time during multi-sport events is also on the agenda, with the UN acting as arbitrator.
