Bill ClintonNovember 5 - The brand new Technogym Village has been opened by former United States President Bill Clinton and Italian President Giorgio Napolitano in Cesena, Italy.

The new company headquarters boasts the world's first Wellness Campus that features a research and innovation laboratory dedicated to physical exercise and education.

The Village encompasses 60,000 square metres of covered space across a 150,000m2 site and is staffed by 1,000 of Technogym's 2,200 worldwide employees.

Clinton (pictured top, right) admitted he was impressed with what he saw at the Village.

"I would love to come and work here at Technogym; I love this place," said the former American President.

"A better future is possible, but we need the optimism of a young, creative company like Technogym.

"I share the issues of wellness, as all over the world, and particularly in my country, one of the greatest problems affecting society is childhood obesity."

Napolitano was equally full of praise, singling out Technogym President and founder Nerio Alessandri (pictured top, left) for praise.

"Not only in America, but also in Italy there are self-made men and there is no better example than Nerio Alessandri," said the Italian President.

"Together with his family, he represents one of those features of the Italian culture which make Italy stand out as not only in Europe but also worldwide, focusing on the capacity to innovate, change, develop and produce."

The village is designed to be a centre where staff, customers, suppliers and guests from across the globe can experience a full-immersion wellness experience, while its design was inspired by the concepts of eco-sustainability and bio-architecture.

"After more than 25 years commitment on the development of Technogym and the spread of the Wellness philosophy around the world, our dream continues and the Technogym Village represents the new starting point for the future of Technogym," said Alessandri.

"Together with my brother Pierluigi and the whole Technogym team, we are proud that the President of the Republic and President Bill Clinton agreed to honour our company with their presence during the inauguration of the Technogym Village."

The opening comes after Technogym worked as the Official Fitness Equipment Supplier at the London 2012 Olympics and Paralympics.

At the Games the company supplied and installed over 750 pieces of their fitness equipment for competitors in the Athletes' Village and other training venues.
