KimOctober 6 - Yoon-seok Kim, the secretary general of the Gwangju 2015 Universiade Organising Committee, has given a key presentation at the UN Sport for Development and Peace International Working Group in Geneva, Switzerland, where he called for a united Korean team to appear together in three years' time.

The UN Office on Sport for Development and Peace (UNOSDP) was established in 2004 in an effort to contribute to world peace through sport policy.

Sixty nations, including both South Korea and North Korea, were in attendance at the recent Session in Geneva.

Kim (pictured above, third right) gave a presentation on Korea's policy for sport development and called on North and South Korea "to form a united Korean team at 2015 Gwangju Universiade".

Although the plan appears ambitious, Kim said it would be something he would continue to pursue in the lead up to the event in South Korea.

After the UN meeting, Kim visited a Youth Leadership Camp site in Switzerland organised by UNOSDP, where he discussed next year's Youth Leadership Camp which will be held in Gwangju.

GwangjuGwangju, which will host the 2015 Universiade, is one of the most picturesque cities in South Korea

The Camp will provide Gwangju with a big opportunity to showcase itself ahead of the 2015 Universiade, which is the biggest event in the world for university athletes.

2015 will mark the second time South Korea has hosted the event having successfully staged it in Daegu in 2003.
